Collaborating with one of the world's finest neuro-surgeon, this book aim to show the public that neuro-surgery is not something to be frightened because its not scary at all! But beautiful! The photographs taken are not like my regular portraits or fashions. Its something that I can truly say as a very personal touch of works. Its just completely different stuff!

Here's a little summary about the book:
In Indonesia, a third world country, where people often perceive that there are few or no surgeons, stand out five renowned neurosurgeons who practice in Siloam Hospital located in Karawaci, just outside Jakarta. These highly accomplished individuals spend their days in OT5, where they have saved hundreds of lives with their expert hands assisted by sophisticated surgical tools specific to neurosurgery.
OT5 stands for Operating Theater Room 5 which is dedicated for neurosurgical procedures, which is defined as surgical procedures performed on the nervous systems or its parts including the brainstem, the spinal cord, nerves and ganglia. The walls of OT5 bear witness of more than 6,000 operations over 13 years and the drama surrounding each of them.
Often described as the most complicated of medical specialty where attention to detail is critical and making mistakes is not an option, neurosurgery requires patience, hard labor and rapid decision on the part of the surgeon.
This book - through state of the art photography - showcases in vivid detail what occurs in OT5; not merely the operations but also the people involved the surgeons, the helpers and of course, the patients. The surgeons provide captions on all aspects of their job, such as the causes of the operations, preventive measures that could have been made, the medical equipments, the role of the helpers and other details on these procedures. The surgeons also share amusing facts about dealing with extreme pressure and about the pleasure of saving lives.
Undoubtedly, the book provides a unique perspective on neurosurgery in Indonesia and surprises readers on the advancement of this field in the country - in an entertaining and unassuming manner. Thanks to these five surgeons who are fast gaining international acclaim, readers can flip through the pages, gain new insights and be captivated by the work and talent of these highly skilled individuals.
